GAVIN SPEAKS
You're feeling it right now, aren't you?
That sense of being lost, down, or completely stuck in your life.
Maybe it's showing up as anxiety about your future. Maybe it's depression about your past. Maybe it's frustration with where you are right now.
Whatever form it's taking, you've been treating it as a problem to solve. A negative state to escape. An obstacle on your path to happiness.
But what if it's actually something else entirely?
What if this difficult experience is actually an invitation from God?
Not a punishment. Not a test. Not even a lesson.
An invitation to remember who you truly are.
From the perspective of non-duality, there is only ONE consciousness. One awareness. One being. This singular consciousness is expressing itself as everything and everyone... including what you call "you."
This consciousness - this God/Source/Being - is what you truly are.
But in order to have the human experience, this infinite consciousness appears to fragment into various "parts" of yourself.
These parts are like characters in a play, each with their own beliefs, feelings, and agendas. In Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, they're recognized as sub-personalities that make up your inner world.
You've experienced these parts in action, even if you haven't labeled them as such.
Have you ever felt torn about a decision? Like one part of you wants to go out with friends, while another part just wants to stay home and rest?
Or perhaps you've noticed how one part of you is committed to your spiritual growth, while another part sabotages your meditation practice by suddenly remembering urgent emails to check?
These aren't just conflicting thoughts. They're actual parts of your psyche, each with their own perspective and purpose.
Some parts take on protective roles, trying to keep you safe from perceived threats. Others carry the burden of painful emotions from past experiences. Still others hold your innate qualities like curiosity, compassion, and creativity.
When you're feeling lost, down, or stuck, what's really happening is that certain parts of you have taken center stage in your consciousness. Parts that carry fear, shame, hopelessness, or confusion.
These parts believe they're helping you in some way. Even the most destructive or painful parts are actually trying to protect you, based on their limited understanding of what you need.
And here's where the invitation comes in...
God - the consciousness that you truly are - isn't trying to eliminate these parts or escape from their experience. God is inviting you to turn toward them with curiosity and compassion.
To recognize that these parts are not who you are. They're expressions appearing within the consciousness that you are.
This is a profound shift in perspective. Instead of identifying with the lost, down, or stuck feeling, you recognize it as a part of you that's calling for attention.
From this recognition, true healing becomes possible.
Not healing in the sense of making the part go away, but healing in the sense of reintegrating it into the wholeness of your being.
This is what Jesus meant when he spoke of leaving the ninety-nine sheep to find the one that was lost. It's a metaphor for the consciousness that you are seeking out the parts of yourself that have forgotten their true nature.
So how do you accept this invitation from God when you're feeling lost, down, or stuck?
It starts with a simple but powerful shift: instead of saying "I am lost" or "I am stuck," try saying "A part of me is feeling lost" or "I'm noticing a stuck feeling."
This small linguistic change creates space between your awareness and the experience. It allows you to recognize that you are not the feeling; you are the awareness in which the feeling appears.
From this space, you can begin to get curious about the part that's present:
When did this part first show up in your life?
What is it afraid would happen if it stopped feeling lost/down/stuck?
What is it trying to protect you from?
What does it need from you right now?
As you engage with your parts from the position of curious awareness, something miraculous happens. The parts begin to relax. They feel seen, heard, and understood, often for the first time.
This doesn't mean the uncomfortable feelings immediately disappear. But your relationship to them transforms. You're no longer identified with them or fighting against them. You're witnessing them with compassion.
And in this witnessing, you're remembering who you truly are - not the parts themselves, but the consciousness in which all parts appear.
This is the ultimate purpose of feeling lost, down, or stuck. These experiences are not obstacles to your spiritual journey. They ARE the journey. They're God's invitation to remember your true nature by first acknowledging the parts of you that have forgotten.
The goal was never to manifest the perfect life where you never feel lost, down, or stuck. The goal was to recognize that even these experiences are appearing within the God that you are.
Your anxiety about the future? It's a part of you that's forgotten it exists within timeless awareness.
Your depression about the past? It's a part of you that's forgotten it exists within ever-present consciousness.
Your frustration with the now? It's a part of you that's forgotten it exists within the perfection of what is.
When you truly understand this, manifestation takes on a whole new meaning. It's no longer about getting the things that will make your parts feel better. It's about recognizing that even the desire to manifest is coming from a part that believes something is missing.
And nothing is missing from the consciousness that you are.
So the next time you feel lost, down, or stuck, try something different. Instead of seeing it as a problem to solve, receive it as an invitation from God.
Turn toward the experience with curiosity. Engage with the part that's present. Listen to its concerns. Honor its purpose.
And in doing so, remember that you are not the part. You are the awareness in which the part appears. You are the consciousness that contains all experiences. You are God playing the game of forgetting and remembering.
This is the greatest invitation of all - to remember who you truly are, not by escaping your human experience, but by embracing it fully.
